Nocte Obducta “Sequenzen Einer Wanderung” (2008)

One day you wake up thinking that you already know what do you want to achieve in your life. Your decisions will completely harmonize with your thoughts and nothing will make you feel insecure or imperfect. You can ease yourself: the time has come for long walks, pleasure of everything and wise, judicious words. What can an avantgarde black metaller do if it happens? Well, post-rock is a good solution.

Nocte Obducta, these german pioneers were always famous for their crazy approach and they’ve managed to unify the essence of pure black metal and extraordinary melodies. We know a great amount of bands who successfully did it, of course Dodheimsgard is still the emperor but concernant our German brothers, Nocte Obducta is at the head of the different performers. The two parts of Nektar: Zwolf Monde, Eine hand Voll traume and Seen, Flüsse, Tagebücher are beautiful moments of avantgarde history.

But time’s passing by solace and which used to be interesting isn’t as beloved as it was. I could mention another 10 causes why a band is leaving the unsettling elements to become the creator of of a post-rock orgy and they would be rather convincing to encourage you: Nocte obducta is playing their music for you. The music of instrumental flights, ethereal awakenings and slow purl of dreamy water. And what is the most beautiful thing in instrumental music?
That I can say anything, in some determinations it will be for certain cover for the music.

In several occasions German soliloquys make this record more colourful, more atmospheric and I’m sure they speak about wise things (since I don’t speak german and I can’t define the meanings). But after all, meaning is so unnecessary in certain cases. Hail the standstill!
