Steel Regiment “The Experiments – An Experimental Tribute to the Beatles” (2008)

Christmas time is not only the time when trees are getting dressed in drag and snow pretends to be some cheesy staffage. Christmas is also the time baby Jesus gets presented as baby Jesus and not John Lennon.

The only reason I mentioned Lennon above was to get the curve to the hereby reviewed unsigned demo of Steel Regiment. If there were a faculty for music and I were in charge of the curriculum the first two years would consist of covering Beatles songs for progress of the individual only (and covering Queen songs for sole entertainment purposes).

Steel Regiment bring back something the Beatles lacked in the first place: Noise. And drumcomputers.

Out of postmodern curiosity I wish McCartney would cover Ride the lightning or at least Opus Dei.
