 Re: 2011?
This year, phenomenal avant-prog band Thinking Plague is releasing a new album named "Decline and Fall". After being quite pleased by latest Present and Univers Zero I am eagerly looking for this! I believe this could be album of the year

Now I wonder if also Dave Kerman's 5uu's will bring something new in the future, it's 9 years since Abandonship album.

New Oranssi Pazuzu for this year! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwqDm9Q_lg0Quote: Oranssi Pazuzu signs a record deal with Spinefarm Records! New album "Kosmonument" will be out on October 26th. The split with Candy Cane was very nice for the Oranssi part, almost better than the debut album. Looking forward to this, although the "single" sounds so much blacker.

 Re: 2011?
Why did nobody tell me that Sólstafir are releasing new album Svartir Sandar in less than two months? Quote: “Svartir Sandar” has been scheduled for an October 14th release (October 18th in North America) and will be available as a collector’s edition limited to 500 copies, including the following items: “Svartir Sandar” on double CD in Digipak T-shirt or Girly with front and back print 4 frosted shot glasses printed with art taken from “Svartir Sandar” Black ice cube tray with SOLSTAFIR logo and customized ice cubes
Disc 1 “Andvari”: Ljós í Stormi Fjara Þín Orð Sjúki Skugginn Æra Kukl
Disc 2 “Gola”: Melrakkablús Draumfari Stinningskaldi Stormfari Svartir Sandar Djákninn With that cover it can only be GOOD.

 Re: 2011?
Listening samples of Chryst (Korovakill) and it sounds really promising ...and what a weird visuel! And what about Flourishing "The Sum of All Fossils" ? Perhaps even better than I expected, really good, sophisticated metal in the vein of late Gorguts. I am satisfied with it. http://youtu.be/_GGLeTP1_HQFrom death metal (deathgrind) waters, the s/t EP by band called Apocryphon is quite wicked it is this: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Apo ... 3540331212http://youtu.be/KmEJ6Mq-5aE

 Re: 2011?
ABSU will follow up 2009's "Absu" with "Abzu". Will the next album be called "Apzu" perhaps, to cover all alternative spellings? I'm sure the variations all have deep and occult meanings. A song, sounds like one would expect: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/10148859

November 7: My Dying Bride - The Barghest O' Whitby
An EP, if memory serves. It can only be better than Evinta.

 Re: 2011?
heard the unfinished version of the new Umbah (courtesy of Cal)............a very big step forward......a lot of the tech-death-brutality is gone, replaced by something new and shimmering....plus a killer new vocalist..............imagine prog-metal colliding with seriously dark d'n'b / dubstep / industrial all wrapped up in a sci-fi sheen...made me wish i still wrote reviews for this site
