 YES albums?
I am going to order a bunch of albums in a week when FOAD is released, and I saw just now that the distro has a big bunch of YES albums for a very low price (6-8€)... Close To The Edge is a sure buy, since I love that one. But what more should I get? I want hi-quality experimental -70's prog, as pretentious and exuberant as it gets. Drama? Tormato? Fragile? Relayer? The Ladder? 90125? (haha, no, I hate that one)
And if I should get one Van Der Graaf Generator-album (redirecting the question to Chrystof) - is I Prophecy Disaster or First Generation worth the price of a luxurious pizza or two rental movies?
Thanks for the response... into the same basket goes, by the way, Tangerine Dreams Cyclone... magnificent song that Bent Cold Sidewalk...

I'm going to Barcelona in February. I think I'll order the Arcturus' albums [ I only have the DVD ] and some T-Shirt from them.
I would look for Camel [ although not sooo distant from the 70s prog ] and Rush [ because Rush is THE band ]
Oh, and what about Jethro Tull? Songs From the Wood, Aqualung and Thick As Brick are their best releases!
A very good album from Yes is Fragile... South Side of the Sky is a very nice song, although I think the Spock's Beard cover is better [ not so pop / better sound quality / morse's voice rules ].

Yes, bloody marvellous song, requested Castlevania-like progrock some months ago at the Jester Board, and that song was the response I got... So that one I'm definitely buying.

Yes' DRAMA is probably one of my favorite albums of all time - Steve Howe seems to have actually discovered the Distortion Pedal!! The musicianship in this one is excellent, though you can hear the steps toward the more commercial side that would show thru.
The Yes Album is excellent - the first with Steve Howe
Fragile, of course
90125 is actually pretty good, too. Trevor Rabin adds a new edge to the band that was still interesting. But after this album, all just went out the window and sucked horribly.
