Reaper is awesome but not freeware. Anyway it's quite cheap, if you do not win a lot of money with your music you can buy it for about 40 euro. If you go commercial and earn a lot, it's still about 200 euro I think so it's still the cheapest one, and very powerful indeed.

I've added Dream Sequencer 2 & DSK ChoirZ (which is pretty great, I already knew it !)
However @Suleiman I didn't find the good links to the other VST you've quoted : can you link me to the official website so that I update the list ?

225 U.S. dollars = 159.891984 Euros
60 U.S. dollars = 42.6378624 Euros
Yeah, I was almost right, but the full license is cheaper than what I thought.
I still think I'll buy this some day. I'm still using the trial version for some time now.

As long as I understood when I read it on their site, you "must" purchase the "big" license if you are making a money from your music. If you are a home user or do not get a lot of money for your albums, you can get the cheap license. I'm not sure if they check your sales anyway. Also, the trial version is supposed to be used for a limited amount of time, but Í think it never stops working, and is fully functional, just the same as with any of the two licenses.
Check what they say about it on their website. They are quite generous with their program. Well, if you have any license, you get access to updates and such, before they launch any demo that you would have to reinstall instead of just updating the program.
I think that Reaper is growing quite much, and they deserve to be paid the ridiculous amount of money they ask for the license, to help the developing. I will do when I'm sure I'll use it as my main DAW.
Edit: well, this is what they say about licenses ->
Cockos wrote: Fair Pricing There is only one version of REAPER. We offer two licenses, depending on how you use it.
$225: full commercial license. $60: discounted license.
You may use the discounted license if any of the following is true:
* You are an individual, using REAPER only for personal use. * You are an individual or business, using REAPER for commercial use, and the yearly gross revenue does not exceed USD $20,000. * You are an educational or non-profit organization.
So if you don't get more than twenty thousand US dollars a year by selling your music, you can get the 60$ license. Awesome. If I got that money per year from my music anyway, I wouldn't mind paying the 225$.
