 DANISHMENDT- new album out now
Crushing Doom/Noisecore/Black Metal/ [insert personal interpretation here] from France.
New album Un Passé Aride out now on Cold Void Emanations and Odio Sonoro. 8 tracks for 62 minutes of suffocating and unforgiving soundscapes. Recorded in July MMIX at "L'Empreinte" by Jérôme Paté, and mastered in May MMX by Benoît Courribet ( http://www.cylens.net).
The album is currently streamed in its entirety on the band's webpage:
http://www.danishmendt.com/disco.html
http://www.myspace.com/danishmendt
Cover artwork:
Digipack / 10 pages booklet
All artwork based on Yves marocchi's work: http://www.residues.net/
Feel free to listen and discuss, AGMers.
Cheers,

jb,
I started listening to the album, I'll tell you what came to my mind.. sporadically. this is a bit heavy release, after the second track, I wondered will there be any interludes (ok, Das Boot - number 5 is such). for the first and easy to say, I find the decision with the vocals will hold very well throughout, I like them, to vaguely orientate anyone who hasn't checked it out so far.. they are in tune with the consistence of structured, also repetitive, sounds which drip of stripped down emotion. I'm not going to genre the first couple of songs, but there's some layered guitars in a kind of plodding on-going rhythm, I could say primal dark-doom band and sonorous channelled spectrality, but there's also this bright definite sharpness which is permanent. I listen on a very poor equipment, but I'll tell you this thing is designed to evoke harsh, crushing atmosphere, because atmospheric it is also... In the second and in the third track is obvious that the band has also influences from the black metal and industrial which is just my way to relate to or to reflect on a musical totality. I better restrict myself to saying this is a very very good release which indeed offers a lot to listeners who aren't strangers to the said genres. The style of band ' music is something to listen to.

Chavdar, thanks for your time and critical appreciation. I have many things to say about this album, but I shan't elaborate here. It is indeed a very heavy and crushing work, also crafting more suffocating and dry ambiances. I think they're quite hard to categorize, despite the stupid headless sheep who'll refer to them as being post-hardcore or some other nonsense. I do believe they create a texture of their own.
Still waiting for the CDs to arrive from the plant!

still enjoying listening to your song Chutes from time to time, and probably others, but I'm rarely capable to withstand my prevailing negative downier moods. the fact that you teamed up with Valborg, whose live effect was praised by T. G. Warrior, shows that I was right about you. not that I doubted that, but now we have institutions talking...
