 Seeing and Listening - Music on Youtube etc..
This thread is intended to outsource some of the copious Youtube music links posted on this forum. Shame that embedding is not possible.
I will start with one of the most haunting experimental music clips I have seen in the last days:

Does anyone else who was around for the old Jester-Records website remember Bogus Blimp having a video for In/Exhale? I'm positive there was one, but searching around YouTube and Google doesn't return anything. It was a pretty basic video; black and white, just the band playing in a room, Christian Mona lying on the ground with the camera swaying in and out on him.
Anyone happen to have it still?

I never saw anything like that, although I'm mostly "new" to Bogus Blimp. The only videos I have seen can be found on youtube and on http://www.akff.no/ and if they're not on akff (what is run by Christian Mona as you may already know), I don't think they're "official" videos. Would be interesting to see, though, that's a nice song. By the way, the 'By 5 o'clock tea' video is awesome:

Yes I remember that BB video, they did some really cool stuff... but no unfortunately I don't have it. Didn't they release a VHS back in the days?

Ah, yeah. I had forgotten about that VHS. Unfortunately I never bought it (kicking myself for it now). I do have a stash of ancient CD-Rs that has a lot of stuff on it from those days, my hope is that I saved it to one of them. When I have some time this weekend I'll dig through them, if I find it I'll throw it up on YouTube and post it here.

It would be appreciated. I'm relatively new to BB and didn't even know about the existence of that vhs.

Lucky me, I found the In/Exhale video and uploaded it to Youtube, here it is for the rest of you to enjoy;

The quality sucks, but hey, the internet sucked in 2001!
I also found an mp3 of an extended version of Marching to Rome.
And one more... found an mp3 of a pre-production version of Virus - Gun Meet Mother.
If anyone is interested in hearing those I could put them up somewhere.

It is going to be difficult. The Battery cover takes the lead.

"More music to make you die inside"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6kBlC-6_LM
The vocalist of THE RED CHORD brought this band to my attention in an interview recently. They did a cover of Kate Perry's pseudo-lesbian sex-commerce "I kissed a girl". The horrible thing is that the heavy parts actually sound like they were a metal band. OK, if the cheesy parts were some kind of postmodern irony - "we know this sucks and so does the audience but we do it anyway cuz it's FUN, you don't have to look METAL to play heavy music, we can still party & fool around cuz life is FUN but sometimes I feel bad & then I want some HEAVY music but not as dark as them SLIPKNOT" - or whatever.. the plain tastelessness provokes me. It's commercial and vapid and seels a pre-fabricated "rebellious" package to kids who think they're special - a watering down of extreme subcultures (put these guys' breakdowns next to something properly SLAMMING - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7C7LHtirlLw - and they'll die).
Or what about selling pop-metal with sponsor deals with energy drink corporations?
