The New Year is a-coming, and the AGM.com HQ is silent in preparations for the first weeks of January, when not one but two summaries of the past year will be presented. First, as an opener, a choice selection of contributors' personal top 2011 lists, and then, more importantly: YOUR lists!

Looking forward to the contributors list, since this is one of my five favorite most used resource for, my record collecting.
Other ones are NORSKSVARTMETALL()COM. Sounds of Death Magazine (underwent a name change Again... SOD TO Anvil back to SOD now DOA) Snakepit Magzazine FRANCE for my traditional metal fix. Voices from the darkside webzine. And Geroge L McHard for my classical music fix.

Seriously, though, I had expected Virus to be near the top. Smohalla, too. On the other hand, there are top 10 albums that I have yet to hear. I better get on it.
Also, why call it the top 20 avant-garde-metal albums when there is music involved which is not metal at all?

But they were sure close. Smohalla entered place 21... As for your second question - I have no idea. Incongruence. Postmodernism.

Re: VOTE VOTE VOTE! YOUR FAVOURITE ALBUMS OF 2011! Perhaps I should add that I do not mind Hexvessel or other non-metal entities, but initially I actually thought the poll was limited to metal bands, which makes sense considering the focus of the site.
I was also surprised to see Opeth and Chryst being in the top 20.

Re: VOTE VOTE VOTE! YOUR FAVOURITE ALBUMS OF 2011! Definitely a good point, but the tolerance for non-metal albums is pretty low; bands like Ulver and Hexvessel come in in an arbitrary guilty by proxy-standard.
